NY Giants Football Commentator Howard Cross Visits the GingerNewYork TV Show, New York City

Mar. 31, 2013 - NEW YORK -- GingerNewYork\'s TV show featuring Howard Cross will re-air April 5, 2013 (2nd segment) at 2:00pm available exclusively on Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) Channels: 34 (TWC) 82 (RCN) 33 (FIOS). The GingerNewYork Howard Cross segments were originally taped on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Manhattan Neighborhood Network Studio located at 537 W 59th Street, New York, NY.  

Cross, one of the premier tight ends of his era, is a featured panelist on the YES Network’s This Week in Football. He is also a sideline re porter during WFAN Sports Radio’s Giants game broadcasts, and is a regular on My9’s Giants postgame shows. Previously at YES, Cross was an analyst for the network’s Ivy League telecasts and its local high school football telecasts.

Cross arrived at the YES Network in 2002 working on This Week in Football and New York Football Sunday, a Jets and Giants postgame show, after spending 13 seasons as a star tight end with the New York Giants. He was drafted by the Giants in 1989 and retired from the club in 2001, having played in a franchise-record 207 games. Cross started in 171 of those 207 games and recorded 201 career receptions for 2,194 yards and 17 touchdowns.

In his second season with the Giants, Cross played a key role as the Giants marched through the regular season and postseason, and ultimately defeated the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV. Three of his four catches in that Super Bowl went for first downs . Cross helped lead the Giants to another Super Bowl in 2001. 
Cross was a three-year starter at tight end for the University of Alabama, where he was All-SEC his junior year and won the Jacobs Trophy as the outstanding blocker in the Southeastern Conference as a senior. He was inducted into the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Hall of Fame in 2011. 

In 2010, Cross was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, which counts as members such luminaries as Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Jesse Owens, Bear Bryant, Carl Lewis, Bo Jackson, Satchel Paige and Charles Barkley.

Mr. Cross is a senior vice president at real estate firm, Cresa New York, and is very active in the community.  Among some of his important charities are Autism Speaks, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), and The Valerie Fund. He also makes frequent stops at schools and camps for kids.
