Moberly, United States (June 6, 2013) -- Have you ever said to yourself, "There ought to be a law?" In many states, citizens have the right to make the laws. Now, you can create, file, and circulate a petition, thanks to a new ebook.
'Sign It Into Law: How to Put Your Petition on the Ballot,' by Victoria Stoklasa, is an ebook that guides the reader through the steps of using a petition to put an initiative or referendum on the ballot. The ebook, published May 27, is available through Amazon.com and Smashwords.com, and will soon be available for download at BarnesAndNoble.com.
"This book is designed for the general public," Stoklasa explains in the first chapter. "You can use this book to manage a successful petition campaign, provided you are willing to do the leg work in researching the petition requirements in your state or local government and follow them rigorously."
Although she does not guarantee success, Stoklasa believes that "with the right knowledge, the right action, and the right intentions, you just might influence the laws that affect you and your community."
Victoria Stoklasa earned a Master of Arts in Political Science from American Public University in 2012. Her political work includes serving on the City of Independence Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board from 2008 to 2012, helping Missouri Governor Jay Nixon win re-election in 2012 as staging location director for Jackson County, and assisting in circulating the petition for Constitutional Amendment to Article X, Relating to State, County, and Municipal Taxes in 2010.
