Luzern, Switzerland – 3/3/2014 – In an ever-growing digital world where more and more transactions of both money and information are handled online or through mobile, the need for enhanced personal security is more critical than ever. Alexander Baltazzis, managing director of Swissns GmbH Is pleased to be able to announce the opening of his new Indiegogo campaign that will allow the creation and marketing of a revolutionary new product that will change the way we manage our lives.
The OTP Token with fingerprint authentication system is not unfamiliar to most people. Used in banks and in theme parks, a biometric fingerprint reader is coupled with verification systems to identify individuals. However, although simple versions of the system are in use, they do not combine a fully secured password creation and identification system.
“What we are creating,” commented Baltazzis, “is what is called a 3-way authentication system. Generally, a 2-way system using a username and password is used. However, with the OTP Token, you now create and manage your passwords with a biometric fingerprint component linked directly to you and you alone.”
It was estimated that in 2013, approximately $70 billion U.S. dollars were lost due to compromised accounts and inadequate security measures. It’s clear that better systems are needed. Although some technology already exists, it’s confusing and not cost-effective. Swissns’ goal is to create a turn-key system that can be used in banks, financial institutions and large enterprises to provide secure access to their systems.
The concept is simple. Swissns will use their Indiegogo funds to create an OTP device with fingerprint authentication. The biometric data will be stored on the device in order to ensure its confidentiality and security. The user will have to swipe their finger on the print reader in order to create a one-time password. In this way, personal security and information integrity is maintained.
“In order to make the device more accessible,” continued Baltazzis, “we will launch two versions of the hardware.”
The first version will be a simple one-time password token with a fingerprint reader and an LCD screen to display the password. The other will feature USB storage that is directly linked to the device. In this way, the files stored on the USB device can only be accessed when the authentication procedure takes place.
Baltazzis is offering a unique opportunity with some very special Indiegogo contributor rewards. In addition to producing an innovative device that will be both cost-effective and in high demand, he is offering a real Angel-level investment opportunity. It is clear that his vision is sound and that there is a large and growing market, and there is no doubt that Baltazzis and his team will soon raise the 50,000 Euros they need.
