India's Ice Cream market still remains largely untapped, the per capita consumption of Ice Cream in India is just a few hundred milliliters per annum, compared to 28 liters in New Zealand, 21 liters in the United States and around 18 liters in Australia.

A large young population, increasing affluence, strengthening of the country’s distribution infrastructure and a large untapped market are expected to be the drivers of the Indian Ice Cream market in the coming years. Research firm IMARC Group expects this market to grow at a CAGR of around 16% during 2014-2019, according to its latest report entitled “Dairy Industry in India: 2013-2019”.
