This fact along with the time line of the Arapahoe High School shooting confirmed the findings of a white paper issued three days before the latest Colorado shooting. The report's 2 main conclusions are that school shooters are serial killers without the patience due to their age, and that all the children at Sandy Hook Elementary should have been saved. The CBS reports notes that the special FBI unit tracked an individual that created a gun range in his basement, used pictures of his roommates as targets, and tortured animals. The report also notes that the Columbine, Newtown, and Arapahoe shooters fit the same profile and are in their late teens to early 20's. The report has been reviewed by nearly a dozen Department of Homeland Security officials.
The timeline given by local authorities in the Arapahoe shooting support the report's contention that its recommended interruption methods would have stopped the Newtown shooter well before he reached any of the children. The Sandy Hook shooting took 5 minutes to execute according to the timeline released by local police. The report cites serial disastrous social decisions in the 1980's as leading to the school shooter of today. The white paper further asserts that Theodore Bundy, Timothy McVeigh, and Andrew Cunanan were the bridge between serial killers and modern day school shooters.
