Washington, DC, USA (December 20, 2013) -- In a series of interviews with CBS news and the Associated Press, a member of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit confirmed that school shooters are a new form of serial killers. This substantiates a report entitled "Secret Service Reached Wrong Conclusions On School Shooters" released three days prior to the Arapahoe school shooting in Colorado 13 December 2013. According to the FBI agent in the CBS news interview, the agency tracked one suspected school shooter and discovered he had built a shooting range in his basement with pictures of his roommates as targets (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_GUN_VIOLENCE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT). The agent further stated that the individual had tortured animals, a basic hallmark of serial killers. The author of the report has been contacted by the office of United States Senator Christopher Murphy of Connecticut concerning his findings.
According to the report issued 10 December 2013 and the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit serial killers are 84% White males, above average intelligence, 90% are sane, addicted to violent and illegal pornography, are socially and sexually dysfunctional loners, hate their mothers, target primarily women and children, played with fire, and 75% are American. America is 4.5% of the world's population, and has 35-70 serial killers active in the country on any given day. The study further notes that the 1 difference between school shooters and serial killers is age. Serial killers tend to be in their mid 20's to late 30's, while school shooters tend to be in their late teens to early 20's. The report cites this difference in age as the reason for the mass killing as opposed to the normal serial killer pattern of killing 1 victim at a time. The report concludes school shooters have not learned patience due to their youth, and this leads to their method of violence.
An additional claim in the report was proven valid by the timeline of the Arapahoe school shooting released by the sheriff's office. The report states that all children at the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown should have survived the incident based on simple steps that should have been taken once the shooter reached the school. Due to the Secret Service's erroneous conclusions this information was not passed on to school administrators or emergency personnel and therefore was not implemented at the time of the incident according to the report. The Arapahoe sheriff's timeline provides irrefutable proof that the counter measures recommended in the report would have stopped the shooter in his tracks where he gain entrance according to the 10 December 2013 report. This information has been available to law enforcement and school authorities since the Columbine school shooting.
The report approached the issue of school shooters in the fashion that the National Transportation Safety Board approaches plane crashes, and sought to eliminate possible causations for school shooters. The report notes that the epidemic of school shooters did not exist in the 1980's and reveals the genesis and evolution of the phenomenon and names the three convicted murderers that were the bridge between serial killers and school shooters. The three killers referenced in the report are Theodore Bundy, Timothy McVeigh, and Andrew Cunanan. The report concludes that Americans can expect 200-300 incidents per year if the a change is not made in how the school shooter problem is addressed. The report is being reviewed by nearly a dozen Department of Homeland Security Officials.
