New
York, NY(SharewellNewswire.com) September 20,2012 - Karen Klein, the
globally recognized bus monitor from upstate New York has now joined
forces with 15 year old Universal Music Group recording artist, BREJÉ
and his No Bullies™ program (www.nobullies.me)
to help spearhead a national anti-bullying campaign to end cyber
bullying. The aim is to collectively help develop resolutions for this
global epidemic one state, then one country at a time. The first phase
of their newly formed alliance will be a road trip called the
Anti-Bully Tour that will canvas America beginning in Myrtle Beach, SC
on October 5th, 2012. The tour will visit youth organizations, grade
schools, camps & other supportive venues to spread its anti-bully
messages. After each event, attendees will be able to meet & greet
artists, ask questions related to bullying, and leave with a supportive
Dropcard (http://www.dropcards/aab) inspiring them to hold their heads up in the face of adversity.
In
conjunction with the tour, an initiative is already in place with the
Co-Founder & Strategic Education Director, Olivia Atanasovska of
eEvolution Learning & Development Center (http://www.eeldc.com/)
to assist CEC District 8 and 38 New York City elementary and middle
schools in implementing their anti-bullying programs in the Bronx.
Karen
chose October since it is now widely known as the Pacer Center's
anti-bullying prevention month. The Karen Klein Anti-Bullying
Foundation (http://www.karenkleinfoundation.org) has partnered with
several major contributors. The first is the world renowned
philanthropist and winner of Oprah's Big Give show, Stephen Paletta,
the creator of the GiveBack Foundation. The second is Chris Surrey of
the New York based company PaintBox Labs and Project54Tour.
Additionally,
Karen has partnered with Miss Teen USA 2012 Logan West to support her
anti-bullying initiative, “Bully Proof: Empowering Children Today to
Stop Bullying Tomorrow.” The program, which Logan started in
Connecticut, aims to empower student leaders to help prevent bullying
in their community. Together, they will create educational content on
the subject of bullying, provide resources to those organizations in
need of help, and assist in developing anti-bullying programs in
schools across America. So many around the world have been anxious to
find out what the bullied grandmother was going to do with the excess
of $700,000 donated on her behalf from over 80 different countries.
“My
foundation is not about reinventing the wheel. The intent is to utilize
this money to support great organizations that are already fighting the
fight against bullying. Along with Chris Surrey and Project54Tour, we
will develop some new material and create new events that will take the
anti-bullying movement further than ever”, explains Karen Klein.
Musical
artists Beau Badrick, Adam Web, NATEKid, Marckel Robinson, Still
Saffire and Testimony are amongst the myriad of performers across North
America that will take part in the traveling PSA/music tours. Already,
the anti-bullying video created by BREJÉ called Facebook Lover, has
garnered the attention of Top40-Charts.com. The single and music video
tells the story of a male teen that has a crush on a classmate and how
this fondness is communicated through interaction on Facebook, today's
most used platform for communications for youth across the United
States.
"I
hope I can show other kids my age and all ages how we have the power to
stop bullying now. It starts with our intentions and our words. How
we communicate and share online. If we keep our intentions and
exchanges about positive messages, then we have won the battle," says
Breje.
A
percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the Breje’s “No Bullies”
merchandise will be donated to the Karen Klein Anti-Bullying Foundation
to support the campaign.
Media
is handled by Project54Tour, a New York based non-profit organization
which specializes in developing strategic PR initiatives, interactive
advertising campaigns, and national music tours. Project54Tour uses
music, sports, arts, and entertainment as a vehicle to empower youth
and help build sustainable communities in the U.S. and abroad. For
