Dallas, TX, USA (August 3, 2013) -- In partnership with the University of California (Los Angeles), the Functional Food Center (FFC) is finalizing the organization of its 14th International Conference.
Functional food research and development is a relatively new scientific field. However, it is rapidly expanding as numerous scientists from around the world are discovering that natural compounds found in food have the ability to manage and prevent chronic disease and improve overall wellness. Currently, there is more information on this topic than ever before. The 14th International Conference of FFC will be very timely in effectively displaying and discussing this new information. A wide array of top-level experts in food industry, biochemistry, immunology, and chronic disease management and prevention will present their recent research findings and, and discuss the implications thereof.
Conference lectures and discussions will provide valuable information for individuals interested in developing food products with functional formulations as well as individuals interested in doing further functional food research. Attendees are encouraged to make new acquaintances with similar research interests for possible future collaboration projects. Conference presenters are eligible to receive several prizes!
We are very fortunate to have Taibah University, which is located in Saudi Arabia, as one of our sponsors for the 14th International Conference of FFC. Taibah University is presenting an award, "the MABL Golden Medal", to the conference presenter who researched and developed the best all-natural product. The MABL Golden Medal has a value of $10,000 (USD). There will also be runner-up awards given to the individuals who present the best pre-clinical, clinical, and functional food product development research. The award ceremony will be chaired by Dr. Bassem Yousef Sheikh, who is a professor at Taibah University.
In addition to the MABL Golden Medal, the Cure Cancer Now Foundation will award the three best student presenters for their research in cancer management and prevention as well as in functional food's ability to manage and prevent chronic inflammation. The founder of Cure Cancer Now Foundation and co-chairman of the 14th International Conference, Dr. Anahid Jewitt, will present these awards, which are valued at $1000 for first place, $600 for second place, and $400 for third place. We strongly encourage all students, of any level, to take part in this competition!
To be eligible for any awards, individuals must be registered as a conference presenter and must be able to submit their full article for publication in the Journal of Functional Foods in Health and Disease by November 1, 2013.
Early submission is greatly appreciated!
