Joel Carter, born in Winnipeg, Canada is a freelance writer, author, rock balance artist, storyteller and physician. He specializes in pain and palliative medicine with integrative perspectives of art and creativity as it pertains to healing, well-being and end-of-life care. His clinical interests include complex pain management strategies in advanced illness as well as the use of storytelling and narrative as they pertain to the psychosocial aspects of dying. His short stories have been published in the Los Angeles Times, Reader’s Digest, and the Annals of Emergency Medicine. His sold out book “Rockpeople – The Chester Creek Inuksuit Anthology” published in 2003 was a bona fide regional sensation.
