Tom Force Reaches Semi-Finals in Dream Big America Contest with I.C.E. Medical Card

Southlake, TX - Entrepreneur Tom Force advanced to the Semi-Finals in the Dream Big America Contest when listeners of "My Cool Inventions" Radio Show voted his invention, the I.C.E. Medical Card, a perfect "Thumbs Up." He is competing for a $20,000 prize.

Force created his inaugural product after getting a phone call in January 2010 that we all dread. He vividly remembers it, "Your Mom is in the hospital, and it doesn't look good," was the message he received. She slipped into a coma from which she never recovered. "It took a long time for word to get to us," recalls Force, "and it probably cost us a chance to say our last goodbyes." After doing some research, he learned this is very common and created the I.C.E. KEYTAG.

"It can take hours, or up to a day to find someone," according to a police spokesman.

"Unfortunately, it can be extraordinarily difficult for the heroes, our First Responders, ER doctors and nurses, to find your next of kin if you are involved in a serious accident," Force says. He points out that while many people put I.C.E. (In Case of Emergency) information in their phones, it is not enough. "In an accident serious enough to send you to the ER, your phone is going to be lost, broken or locked...and useless," he states. "There had to be a better way to convey this info when time is critical."

His creation of the "I.C.E." Keytag is a simple and inexpensive solution. The tag stands out prominently on a person's key ring, and has a place to write in the phone number of the person you want notified immediately when you need them most. "We give emergency medical personnel a fighting chance to notify loved ones quickly," Force says. The tags can also expedite the return of lost keys and include a free download of a critical information form for the glove box or medicine cabinet.

Recently the company introduced the I.C.E. Medical Card System, a comprehensive membership program that allows for the secure storage and fast access of a person's medical and emergency contact information. "We are taking protection to an entirely new level," states Force, "EMTs  and ER doctors can quickly retrieve critical data when every second counts."

In the aftermath of an accident or medical emergency, it can be chaotic. Force explains, "The ICE Medical Card not only provides access to your emergency contact information, but a wide array of medical and other considerations that our customers want known if they are in trouble. This is information they control and can update at their leisure.”

Douglas Penta, MD, OB/GYN confirms the need for The I.C.E. Medical Card: "This is a tremendous product that will have far-reaching benefits for First Responders," he stated. "Their job is hard enough, not to mention arriving at the scene with little or no information. As an obstetrician, the information provided by this card is invaluable. When an obstetric patient I do not know comes through the ER doors at 2:00 a.m., even the most basic information about her prenatal care can impact medical management."

“A great idea!” said "My Cool Inventions" radio host John Cremeans. Listeners gave The I.C.E. Medical Card a 100% Thumbs Up vote after listening to Force pitch his invention on air. This has only happened three times in the history of the show, a feat Force hopes to duplicate in the Dream Big America contest, which is the second round of voting. If listeners' votes advance The I.C.E. Medical Card to round three, Force will compete for the grand prize, $20,000 to market his invention.

Spreading the word about the peace of mind available to families is something Force is passionate about. He has started the "100,000 Lives Protected" Mission for 2014. He has appeared on ABC-TV in Dallas, been heard on national radio shows, and been featured in major media outlets to share the I.C.E. message. In the pilot episode of “Gameplan,” Force appeared with Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank and “As Seen on TV” fame along with a host of Home Shopping Network.

Force adds a final thought, "Whether you use our tags, the ICE Medical Card System, or simply put a piece of paper in front of your license that says “I.C.E.” on it and has your important info on the back, you will be doing yourself a favor and potentially saving your family and friends a lot of grief. When time is critical, you will be glad you did."
