In response to the need for more and better content, Haskell New York Inc. has delved into the realm of publishing once again. Always known for writing in respectable press release sites, ezines and blogs, Haskell has now upped the ante with its own article publishing service.
Haskell, a federal government GSA (General Services Administration) dealer that participates in the AbilityOne program which supports the blind and wounded veterans, has begun offering a series of short articles and "how to" tips. The new articles appear on their flagship site, OfficeSalesUSA.com and periodically feature news relating to their niche including business, education, environmental, health-related, holiday themed and computer-electronics discussions.
Unlike many content providers, Haskell does its own writing to ensure quality standards are met. To avoid the pitfalls of appearing too spammy, some articles do not even contain links. The goal here is to first establish respectability and hopefully content people will actually want to read.
Over the years, the company's employees (including its administration) have contributed articles to popular ezines, blogs and other content sources. Thrown off by over-emphasis on site rankings, Haskell reframed from participating in sites more interested in how they would be viewed by search engines than actual readers.
In its new framework, Haskell New York Inc. can publish content it feels worthy and not be restricted by the business models of others. Sometimes this means giving links to worthy causes and putting aside the rules. Not everything is about money though as with any worthwhile endeavor, there is always a game plan. It may not be so apparent to others, but sometimes the soft sell approach is best.
The company also remains committed to bringing alternative views on subjects. Not everything is black and white or good and bad. There is a lot of grey in between. A perfect example is a recent article on the subject of animal testing. Writing that check for cancer research may have felt good at the time until you discover that in many states, it is actually legal for these testing facilities to use pets surrendered in shelters. Often these animals did nothing wrong but their owners simply could not afford any more to take care of them or were forced to move to a place where pets were not allowed.
After 85 years in business, the Brooklyn-based company continues to break ground with new and exciting features. Sometimes this involves thinking outside the box even if it's just putting a new spin on an old idea.
